Protien Skimmer problems.

Hi all, I have had this my 125gal tank setup for about 2 weeks now. The skimmer is not working correctly. I am not getting anything into the top of the skimmer except water. I am not sure what is wrong, I am getting air bubble to rise, up out of the tube but nothing goes into the collection cup but some water.

Any Ideas?

Thanks,

Obmanta

If you haven't cycled your tank yet (and especially if you have no live rock in there) you probably don't have anything to skim out. I recommend turning off your protein skimmer until your tank has gone through the cycle. What are you using to cycle your tank?

Adjust the return on the skimmer, it's height controls how much water is in the top of the skimmer.

I have about 175lbs of lf in the tank.

What do you mean the return of the skimmer? I have a a tube comming out by the cup of the skimmer.

I agree that you shouldn't be worrying too much about what your skimmer is producing unless you are cycling with LR.
