does anyone know if a SCWD has a built in check valve? just curious. i was going to install one from my return pump ( which will be the input to the SCWD ) but i thought SCWD's might only work in one direction like a check valve

I think they do only work in one direction....I belive they are intended to be installed on the return pump line.

yes, if the return pump loses power it will start a siphon. I found this out the hard way and had a mini pool in my room. Would be kinda cool if they manufacture it a different way so this doesn't happen. I know a tiny hole in the return spout will solve this, but it would save some trouble.
