I have green wire like threads coming off rock that has hairy mushrooms on it.anyone ever seem or heard of this?

Sounds like the begginings of hair algae, but without a pic, it's hard to be sure.

I looked at a pix of hair algae didnt look like that. it looks like a curly Q peice of wire .Dont know maybe it is the beggining of hair.

There are several different species of hair algae, some are very soft looking and some look very wirey. If at all possible...get us a pic to look at.
