tank cleaning

Just wondering if anyone out there lets the back wall of their tank "go" while cleaning. I tend to clean the front and sides but not the back. It slowly gets covered with algea but it seems to keep my snails happy. Is it okay to leave the algea in there or will it just spread. It is a combo of a thin layer of brown algea and some purple patches of coraline. Thanks! Lando

I usually let the bank go natural but occasionaly ill go over it lightly with a metal scraper.

About 70% of what is visible from the front. It may be a PITA in a few months though the way it grows!

As far as it being a PITA in a few months. Just take a razor and keep it trimmed a half inch from all the rock. If you stay on top of it, it shouldnt get out of hand.
