hi all , i ave a small marine tank at present and have just purchased a 6 foot tank ......i,m looking to build a brick unit which would place tank over but just in front of a radiator ......woild this help maintain the temp of water or hinder it?

Thanx in advance

Bad idea. Just dont do it. Your going to run into alot of problems. U will have temp issues when its on and off. Ull have storage issues under your tank and no possible way to have a sump.. On a tankthay big id say sump for sure. Not sure where this idea came from.. But seems really bad. Sorry to say but common sense? What about in the summer when its reaaally warm then what? What about water bills for leaving the rad on 24/7 ?

+10 to dimdim radiators work by getting real hot and letting heat rise into the air and circulate around the room even if its one of the newer ones with a fan on it 90 % of the heat goes straight up. Tank would have tremendous temp swings as rad turns on and off that you would kill every thing in it and have a virtual algae factory. Not only that the water would absorb all the heat and you would have problems heating that room. Hope this helps

Thanx guys it was just thought nothing put in place yet ........can always move the rad

Much appreciated thanx
