My tank is 6'x 2' with a 2" live sand bed. I recently added 2 sand sifting stars to help with keeping the sand clean. My question is....will they keep it TOO clean? Am I asking for future trouble, or will fish poop and others wasted help balance it out?
Would you take back 1, both or none?
Thanks for any input.

I think 2 is fine, just know that they sift in search of pods and worms and such for food. You won't have a live sand bed for long.

Is that a big deal in the long run?
Would adding pods help? I have quite a few between my rock and the sand. I can see them scurrying around my rock in good numbers.
Or maybe when I set up my fuge (converting my 55 gallon sump) I can get the filtration benefit from the live sand base in there?
