Trying to get into sps corals

I need help picking out some easier branching sps corals. I'm looking for colors and something to fill in the top of my aquarium. I was thinking about maybe a birds nest but I don't know what else to get. Any advise would be great

Birdsnest is great, just grows really fast. Montipora digitata an capornicis are also easy to keep and fast growing. As far as acropora go A. Yongei (green slimer) and A. millepora are fairly hardy as well.

I agree with bribo on his choices. Hardy and fast growers. If you can get your hands on an established colony over a frag, it will also help matters. I've had frags die off from a mistake or accident while my big acro colony has never cared and keeps growing.

Take a look at pocillopora as well. Similar to birdsnest and stylophora, and in the same family, just different in its growth form and polyp structure. That said, if you are good at pocillopora, it can be a nemesis as it can drop polyps which will take root wherever it may land and begin to grow. I've had some that do this, and some that don't, so my experience is that this is hit or miss.

I like those but they look kind of small . My live rock only goes about half way up my aquarium so I'm looking for some really branchy corals to fill the top

All the corals we mentioned will grow exponentially. Sps don't fill in a tank overnight

I loved my pocilloporas. I sure miss them. Grew pretty quick too before the first temp issues in my tank.

They kinda grow in a bunchy formation but they can fill in spots nicely. Montipora digitata branches very nicely and is hardy. I'd reccomend that for the top as well as monti caps which spiral

Here is my pocillopora. Started out the size of a golf ball a year ago. Has probably tripled in size in that time.
