what kind of pump do you recomend for water changes like to put in a 30 gal garbage pail to mix the salt and getting it to the right temp? ?

any old powerhead or submersible type impeller pump, rios are cheap and powerful, penguins are good. The powerhead itself will provide some heat but ya might have to drop in a submersible heater and floating thermometer to keep it where you want.

since powerheads are epoxy sealed you can just whip one in there anywhere and not worry about it. Youcan get one for $15 for smaller ones or even cheaper yet.

a pump is a high power powerhead if its submersible. you also have external pumps.

A PH might push 500GPH or less where as a pump can push water well over 2000GPH if sized correctly.

I use a maxijet 1200 powerhead and a 100W heater in my mixing container
