Darkening, not effective... I have tried everything. This stuff is mean.
 
What fish do you have in the tank? Is it planted? Try cutting back on the amount of food you give the fish. Ramshorn snails will eat some of the Hair Algae. Do you vacuum out all uneaten food? The algae feeds off of left over food. :?

Still having algae problems? High Phosphates or high nitrates could cause hair algae. Go to Tony`s tropical fish and birds. I`m sure he has something to lower the phosphates.
