Adding new fish?

I've got a 25 gal with 6 neons and a betta which I just took out I have a Java fern and I put two cycled sponges from the fish store in there! I really want to add more fish now since ive had it for 2 weeks now with just 6 neons? What can I add now and would you recommend doing anything before I add fish?

Test your water. Not those strips but an API water test kit. Make sure all the ammonia and nitrites are 0.

This is a double post he has one already where I gave him/her detailed info from aqadvisor about him/her doing a school of cherry barbs.
But yes get an api liquid test kit to make sure the tank is in fact cycled ammonia 0, nitrite 0 Nitrate 10-40ppm
