albino tiger barb question

so yesterday our male barb was mating with one of our females so seperated them from communal tank into a breeding net all was fine they laid a few eggs however the male just died is this normal or what could have happened ...he the only male we had so its even more annoying

Sometimes the water quality in a breeder net can get bad if the fish food degrades and there is little flow through the net. I have had this happen with fry. If the net is similar to a fabric isn't really getting a tremendous flow through even near a filter outflow.

No it wouldn't be normal for the male to die.

How long did you have him?

they were only in there for max 10 hours no food its a netty type breeding box and only month and half or 2 months
