Missing Convict

Hello,
I have 8 convict cichlids, 2 mystery snails and a small pleco in a 55g tank.
I noticed that two females were pregnant yesterday(The one that isn't missing laid her eggs yesterday) and the other pregnant female(I knew because she was bloated and she had her egg tube sticking out) is now missing today and I have checked and checked and I still cant find her. She was about 2 inches, and had a 3 inch male by her side when she was pregnant. I tested the ammonia levels and they were completely fine so I do not know if she died or not. Any suggestions on what could have happened?

If you have caves in the tank for the fish to breed in, she is possibly inside a cave. Otherwise check the floor around the aquarium and see if there is a dry fish. If you have a cat or dog, they will usually eat fish that jump out of the aquarium.

She was probably eaten by my dog because I picked up all the caves and decor and there was still no sign of her. Thanks for the help
