Another fish id

Hi all. I just p/u a 29gl complete tank set up including stand for free on craigslist. What a find. It came with 2 fish a 4" Plece and what I was told a zebra danio. But he is a light blue ish gray with a dull yellow patch on his nose. It does not stop moving to get a good pic. I will keep trying, but maybe someone can help me figure out what I have. Thanks so much. David

It is in fact a zebra danio, it's a Glofish Danio! Google it for more info, they're a genetically modified fish so they glow under blue lighting.

The pink one also seems to look like a Glofish.

If your pleco is a common pleco it can get huge (up to 18") so I'd look into rehoming it.... If you post a pic we can try to ID.

Btw, congrats on the tank!

You're welcome! Usually it's a common pleco as they're very cheap, but double check it could be a species that stays smaller like a Bristlenose pleco.

This is the perfect time of year to rehome one though as many people add them to their ponds. Craigslist is probably best....

And yes zebra danios will school with Glofish. www.glofish.com has lots of info on them, really fascinating process.

Hmm, hard to tell exactly, but he looks like a common to me.

That looks a lot like my bristlenose pleco.

Common pleco, male BN will have bristles after 4 months to 6 months old, female will most likely have only few tiny bristles by the gills, so I'd suggest it's common plec
