are volcanic rocks suitable for my aqaurium

I "took" this from mt. Vesuvius in Italy near popeii they are volcanic in nature but I was wondering would they mess with my chemistry as I have a 65l with plants a betta , tetras and Cory's thanks !!!

I know lava rocks are sometimes used as filter media. Are they the same thing?

Put vinegar on them and if they fizz they'll alter your water conditions, if not you're good
