The first batch were duds but batch two popped tonight..little yellow, green and dark specks all over..had to move the nest, Herbert was perched under neath pickin em off at the water line.
So they 're getting one of the spare tanks and a sponge filter. So excited...
These snails have been so good at cleaning, they are not good at the all plants (like cryptocornes) because their massive size.

You moved the hatchling apple snails?

I hope you moved them into an algae infested tank, because their so small they could very well starve before finding an algae wafer.

They are going in a 10 gal that was going to be torn down and cleaned..it was the QT for the new batch of cories.... the watercress died and it is a green soup of algae oto heaven..it has nitrates climbing so I was going to axe it to step one again. One more day and it would have been cleaned and my daughter was going to use it to separate her 4 largest fry. Lucky hatch day.
It was tough picking the lil boogers up with a skewer and water tension.

and three batches to go ..the busy things!
