Bioload from shrimp

I think I know the answer but the 1" per gallon rule... does it include shrimp... I have herd mostly that they do not really count towards it due to there very low bioload and they do such a good job cleaning up :D
 
No, you can keep about 30 shrimp per gallon. I have successfully kept well over 300 in a 10g tank and I know a guy that estimates that he haas about 3000 in his 55g tank. It is absolutely no problem at all to have 300 like I did. I had that many along with java moss to soak up nitrates and my ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate readings were all 0 and the colony was thriving!
