Ok back in Australia I had bristlenose catfish, they look like my pelcos here but have bristles on there nose (funny that hey?). Has anyone seen them here in the USA?

Bristlenose Pleco

Yes, they are fairly common in the US. They are usually sold under the common names of Bristlenose Pleco or Bristlenose Catfish. They belong to the genus Ancistra and probably the most common species you will find here are lineolatus and temminckii. I believe Ancistrus bolivianus is also seen, but may not be as common. Check at the LFS and I would be surprised if they were not familiar with them. Check out http://www.planetcatfish.com/ilibrary/loricari/ancistru/g_thumbs.htm for more info on all species of this wonderful fish.
