hey

Do bubble stones need to run for a while in their own tank to cycle or anything or can i just put it in my tank right away? thanks.

Throw it in the tank. There is no "cycling" as far as bubble stones go. Their sole purpose is to increase surface agitation, which increases gas exchange. They really don't move much water. Just enough to circulate water near a batch of eggs, but that is a thread of its own.

oh i know most tanks dont need them but i had some old pumps had nothin to do with them so i just boughht some bubble stone since there so cheap. thanks.

if the stones themselves are not new, i would, at least, brush them so that you have good even airflow.
