Bulk Sponge Filter Anywhere
I want to use course sponge and cut it into a triangular configuration for the corner of my fish tank where I can hide the intakes to my filters ect.
Does anyone know where you can get cheap filter media? Would Wal Mart or some other store have anything similar that you can use? As an example rather than buy aquarium sand I went to the hot tub store and bought swimming pool silica sand at $10 for a 50LBS bag instead of the more expensive prices I'd had to pay at a pet store. It's the same exact thing. Looks nice but is cheaper. Any ideas for filters? Thanks, |

I would imagine you want it in black, no? If so, I have seen it for sale at Big Al's online, under media/mechanical. Otherwise, you MAY find it at a fabrics store, but it must be OPEN CELL foam, and it may not come in colors other than white/off-white.
