Can I put this in my tank.

My parents brought me a geode for my aquarium and I was wondering of it was safe.

If anyone's interested I out it in a bucket to see if it altered pH and it actually turnedthe water pink in less than 15 minutes so I guess its not going in my tank.

Soak it in bailing water see what that does..
On 2nd thought that could crack it so just use warm water and see if its like a tannin(its not just using as an example)

My vote: Don't use it

I used to work at a bead and jewelry supply company and it is quite common for minerals and stones to be dyed...with just about anything!

It's just not worth it IMHO.

Yeah I've already decided that I won't use it. I think I'll place it by my shells on my 55's stand instead.
