My dad bout ours years ago for landscaping and I figured they would really pop considering I have blue sand substrate. I think I'll add it tomorrow but scrub them one more time just to be safe lol. Ill post pics once they're in!

I have boiled tons and tons of rock, probably over 200, and never had anything bad happen.

No, but the higher your PH the more dangerous even the slightest amount of ammonia becomes.
