Color Changing Pleco!?

My clown pleco is sometimes brown, sometimes greenish... Could this have to do with the fact that u can't get him any driftwood? Why is this so? Also, why is he so skittish, is that typical of them?

Do you have any hiding areas in your tank

Yes I have a fake plant and a castle that he hides in a lot

They are very skiddish fish!!! I had one for 2weeks and it never came out of hiding!!! I never saw it until I had to catch it to bring it back!!! Bristle nose plecos are the way to go!!! Bn's eat algae too which my clown pleco didn't touch!!!

Why can't you get him any drift wood?
Pleco need wood in their diet. I would rethink keeping him if you can't find some driftwood.
