I got curious today o nwhat would happen if a fish saw its own reflection in the tank, so I hung a small mirror like you put in your locker at school in the tank and one of my zebradanios just stared at it for well over 4 minutes, he seemed so confused, I think he thought there was another fish mimicking his moves lol

Do that to a beta, they fan out their tail and fins and get in attack position. Just don't do it for too long as it may stress the fish a little.

mine never flaired its tail up!!!! I'm buying another one just to see it do it ( mine died not ot long ago )

I have two bettas that live side by side - the barrier between the tanks is some silk plants, which means they can view each other at times. The crowntail flares alot (even ME sometimes - talk about attitude ! LOL). The veiltail is extremely laid back - he flared ONCE at the crowntail and hasn't since.
