cycling and snails?

Hi all! Trying to start cycling my 20 gallon planted tank. Can mystery snails, before snails and mts be in the tank while cycling? I don't want anything to happen to them and I do have a 3 gallon tank I could use for them. Thanks!

I'd rather let it cycle for week or 2 then I'd consider adding snails, they poop often and it could crash the building colony if bacterias before its sustainably developed.

I think that inverts are every more sensitive than fish to an uncycled tank.
