Finding rarer fish.

I'm setting up a 20 long for 2 aganazis, two vietjinas, seven 3 lined pencilfishes, and seven pigmy Cories but I cant find the pencilfish or the Vietjina's, where might I find these?
I would have put this in the starting aria, but I already have several tanks.

I usually check out online auctions. The site I frequent is www.aquabid.com.

Some of the online stores have rarer fish: www.liveaquaria.com, www.aquariumfish.net, www.fish2u.com. Shipping costs, however, are a *real* pain...

Also, look into aquarium societies in the greater Cincinnati area. These are often a really good way to connect up with breeders and other retailers/wholesalers.

If you're willing to make the drive, there is a store in Ann Arbor calle Aquatec that regularly stocks pencil fish.

Or you can ask your lfs to check with his distributor to see if they're available. That will save you the cost of shipping.

Good call, Brian. That's what I used to do, and it works in many, many cases.

Unfortunately, *my* LFSs are terrible and seldom succeed in getting what I ask for!
