Found this little critter living in my java fern on driftwood. Anyone know what it might be? Looks like a flea but is too big. Could it be daphnia? I only feed freeze dried.
Or is it a parasite?
Transparent body, looks green in the pic though. And a long thin body with lots of little legs. Apologies for the terrible pic! Had to put it on a spoon to get a decent close up!
Please help! ThanksImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1407750249.873475.jpg

Difficult to see, but it looks like daphnia to me. I've heard that even the freeze dried kind can still have eggs that can hatch.

Long thin body? Definitely not daphnia then.

Probably some kind of insect larvae - I think the 'legs' will be the nymphs gills. Will most likely be a mayfly nymph or damselfly larvae. Google both and see if any look like your little water monster. Not a problem, although they would eat fish eggs and maybe very young fish larvae
