Hey why do people use Cree lighting instead of normal LEDs??

Specifically, three watt CREEs (or other similar LED from some other manufacturer). It's because your average LED (SMD, Double Brights, etc) has nowhere near the power needed to actually grow a plant in an aquarium let alone maintain anything in a reef tank.

Are that good enough to grow java moss and if not where could I find Cree light for a good price also what would be the correct name??
