Hey guys, for a 30g planted tank, would you recommend a HOB filter, such as an AquaClear 50, or a canister filter? Thanks!

Depends on your budget. Some canister filters tend to cost more than HOB. But for a 30g tank, if you go with a HOB I would get an aqua clear 70. That is that I have on my 29g planted tank. Which is more than enough. But if your worried. A sponge filter won't hurt as well
