So my lfs said I can bring in my old fish and trade for a new one. I'm going from tropical to cold water fish. I realize I don't have any fish bags or little fish tanks with handles to transport them. Is there a alternative for fish bags? Can I use ziplock bags?

Matters how long the drive is, I've used everything from a cooler with a battery powered air stone to ziplock bags

Any clean safe container.
I have never used air while transporting fish, monthly about 1 hour in bucket.

I use ziplock bags, but anything works. If you use bags make sure to not put a lot of water in so that not as much oxygen is used up snide the bag.

It might be an hour or two trip taking public transportation to the lfs

I've used ziplock bags, but they were kind of a pain, so now I just save my bags from when I get new fish so I can use them.
