How much the space for air

I have one question.
Do I need to fill my aquarium fully, or to certain level (if yes, how many inch do I need to leave for the air)?

Right now I leave 1.7 inch.

Right now I leave like 2 cm. it doesn't really matter as long as you have a filter making surface agitation.

As long as you're not filling it up to the top of a glass lid or something like that, it's fine.

Nope. A filter will give the surface agitation you need

I wasn't aware plants take in oxygen. But I don't think it matters as there are heavily planted tanks with tops...

Its not necessary unless you are pumping in co2 like in a high tech set up.
