Please help me identify my pleco. He is brownish black. I don't think he is a common pleco because of his markings. He also has a beautiful top fin that he won't let me get a picture of! Thanks!

that is a common pleco

they come in many diff. shapes/sizes/patterns but you can tell by looking at the basic body shape, and shade/color of scales......that is a rock type one(forgot name) but i think there are a few diff. classifications of common plecos......

and just so u know;)
they can get to 24" and bigger in wild

usually 18" in home aquaria

looks like a male.......
