Is there a reason my blood parrot is digging a trench?

I've read its a territory thing. Which brings new to my next question. I was told to put her with semi aggressive fish and I feel like that was the wrong choice. I have a pair of gouramis and 7 tiger barbs. She seems very threatened by the gouramis. I called the pet store and they simply refuse to take back the gouramis. My tank is large enough. I have been cycling it and have been making multiple pwc to keep it in check. Jtm I wouldn't have gotten the bp until the tank was cycled, but I was given very poor advice. I've learned my lesson I guess you live and learn!

Just give it some time. Let the fish become aclimated and see how things go. The BP might be acting like that now, but let the pecking order fill out. be patient.
