I do think it is pregnant.

If you don't want to raise and rehome fry, just let it give birth and many, if not all the fry will be eaten. If you do want to raise and rehome them, you need a cycled tank to put the pregnant fish in. When the female gives birth, put it back in the other tank.

Are it's scales sticking out then it's dropsy, but it looks like it's pregnant

Well, I didn't see any baby fish in the tank, but the platy is back to skinny.

they may have been eaten or she may have just been bloated. I've had this happen with my neons a few times. Little piggies try to steal everyones food. They looked like they swallowed a pea whole.
