Any idea what these jelly blobs are, as far as I'm concerned I don't have any snails in my tank

Bacteria on old food. How much do you feed a day?

Generally twice a day, so I should get rid of immediately?

It's not so much how often you feed that's the issue, it's how much you feed at one time that can be more of a problem. If you are looking at food floating or laying around after a couple of minutes, try cutting back. Fish will eat like maniacs at first, then after a half minute or so it slows down. I kinda take the small portions to the extreme, feeding 6-8 times or more what they can eat in about 30 seconds or so, maybe a little longer. It works well for me.
