I have my fish tank on a dresser with a mirror behind and it seems like my fish are always trying to swim to the other fish they see. I was wondering if I need to put a background on my tank.

Isn't there a saying...the water is always better on the other side of the glass ;-)

Does your tank have rocks/plants/etc.? I would try putting a background on your tank. I do think it looks more natural for the tank and I would imagine the fish would enjoy it, too.

LOL Good one Myriam!

What sort of fish are they hairy? They may see the other fish as competition and are trying to get rid of em, or may be schooling fish and are trying to get to the rest of the school they think they see.

I have plants and rocks.I do have some bala sharks that would want school.
