Well, the tank has cleared up, but I still have ammonia, at about .25 daily, and no nitrites, and no nitrates.

That level of ammonia is very manageable. Its odd that you would have no nitrates though...
As a side note, I too was noticing ammonia in my tank this weekend, and so I did a pwc. Still saw ammonia at .25 So I did another pwc... Turns out my tap had .25 ammonia steady so I just stoped changing water; just fyi to also test your tap.

Yeah fishless cycling takes four to six weeks. Cycling with fish takes even longer.

Well. Did a nitrate check last night. It wasn't quite 0 and wasn't dark enough for .25 on the API test. So I guess it is somewhere between.

Oh, my! Isn't that the truth? I've been doing pwc's in my 60 lately due to an ammo spike. Don't have a python, so I'm carrying around 4 to 5 five gal buckets every day. I've had many people comment on the muscles in my arms! At least that isn't a bad thing!
