Do larger more frequent water changes, add a 1/4 of cup of Nitra- Zorb to my filter cartridge, lastly add plants. I am thinking about more ferns but what about Mexican Oak Leaf Plant, I realize nitrate removing plants are duckweed and fast growing floating plants. But I hate then I think planted plants are prettier and the duckweed I had absolutely consumed my tank. So that's not happening again. My tank is 36 gal, has been up since April, and my tap water nitrates are between 40 and 80 leaning towards 80 . Also any of your favs or just plants you know will grow in regular lighting and a temp of 74 degrees.
