Aquarium Advice Addict
A few days ago, I purchased an air pump and stones so I could stop using the valve on my spray bar for aeration (much quieter with the pump). My other intention was to degas my tap water as well. I'm on a well and I assumed I had dissolved CO2, making the water very acidic, but I hadn't REALLY tested my water after it was degassed.
Last night I drew 5 gallons into a bucket, added in a second airstone with a "T" and valve, and let it bubble all night. 12 hours later(approx) I tested this morning.
In my test, I sampled my tank, the degassed water, and tap water from the sink. I also have pictured a high range PH reading on the degassed water.
These were my results:
The tube with the rubber band wrapped high is straight from the tap.
The tube with the rubber band wrapped low is degassed.
The tube next to the degassed is the tank.
And of course the high range reading is also the degassed.
