RCS with Amano shrimp??

I really like RCS, but have read Amano shrimp are better at cleaning.. Can the two be mixed?

Yup, I have both together in one tank and they don't even pay attention to each other.

They're as good an algae eating / scavenging freshwater shrimp combination as you can get.

IMO they're as interesting as fish, if not more so.. Think a shrimp tank is next!

RCS and Amano shrimp will not cross breed because while RCS are a neocaridina species, Amano shrimp are caridina species. Both can easily be kept in the same tank, though. If there is a large population of either species in a tank, they may start to compete for food.

Depends on the tank size really. And Pleco or Oto won't attack the Shrimp.
