Browse around whatever fish stores are in your area, make a general list of what interests you.
Do you want a single fish (betta or similar), small group (2 pea puffers or a trio of cherry barbs), active schooling group (small tetras or micro raboras), a handful of colorful fish (male Endlers or guppies)...a 10g isn't a huge tank but there definitely are options for you.

Everybody likes different fish. Find fish that interest you and do research on them, try to find as much as possible about the fish you like. I love Rainbowfish, wrasses (saltwater), and rasboras. My best friend loves fish that stand out and look really unusual (knife fish, freshwater sole, etc) and says that all other fish are to plain.
