Restocking my 40g breeder. Ideas?

I gave all my fish I had in my 40g breeder over craigslist to local people in my area and I am wanting to restock it with cichlids. Was wondering if I could put some Yellow labs and other cichlids like that in there and how many? The tank has been running for 9 months, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrate and 2 nitrite, ph is 7.1. Just incase anyone was wondering what the stuff was. Thanks!

Also have a quiteflow 30 on it and a top fin power 40 on it for filtration.

You'll need a 4foot tank for most cichlids.
