Safe for Bio Media?

i made these things that look like bio-balls from knex i was wondering if there safe to use in my fw tank as bio-media.

They fit in the back of my HOB filter would they work in there?

yes bb will grow on most things the problem is will it leach any thing into the water but they are hard plastic and ment for kids that put all sorts into there gobs so i guess there safe

yeah ill prob give them a good rinse and soak in hot water to leach any chemicals out

I say your fine. I have pot scrubbers, GI joe men, and kit up water bottle pieces in my canister filter. Working like a charm.

I use aquafina bottles, they are actually corn based plastic and not oil based!
