salt deposits?

hi, i was wondering if anyone has found a good chemical/product to remove the salt deposits from my tank. (on the hood, etc.) They dont really do anything harmfull, except for look ugly, and when i try to give the hood a good scrubbing, they are still there when it dries. any comments would be apprecieated

Clean water on a fresh paper towel always works for me, though I never worry about getting rid of ALL the salt. One of my tanks has a glass top which makes the clean up much easier compared to the standard top on the other tank.

I've heard of someone using diluted vinegar in water to clean up. It works great on glass, don't know about hoods though.
