Seachem Prime VS ClorAm-x?

I read that this little device only reads free ammonia, has anyone tried this before? Is it worth buying?

Prime is great it's all I use. Got my fish through a half cycled tank without losing any. Mine was past ammonia stage I had nitrites off the charts but used this with daily wc's until things balanced out fish were good as gold...

I use prime for even my cycled tanks on a maintenance basis. The prime will show the ammonia but it is no longer as toxic to your fish. Your bio bacteria will consume it all the same and convert to nitrite and then nitrate as if it were regular ammonia.

Your fish produce ammonia on a daily basis, which is why you cycle your tank to start so the waste your fish produce doesn't poison them.

You can also try adding some pwc's while the ammonia goes down to help the bacteria out a bit.
