Starting new fish

Hi all, recently my two platy fish died So I'm thinking of getting some new fish, and I want to know what I should do to prepare my tank? My tank info is as follows:

Size: 10 gallon
pH: 7.5-7.6
Ammonia: 0.25 ppm
Nitrite: 0 ppm
Nitrate: 5.0 ppm
Time: set up last December

I have a Tetra Bio Bag filter, and I'm not sure whether it's a biological filter or carbon filter? And is my tank well established?

It's not established until Ammona & NitrIte are 0 FYI.
