Aquarium Advice Addict
I have a 1.5" Figure 8 puffer and a 2.5" Columbian Shark. I'd like to add a school of fish (probably 4). Which do better in these conditions accounting for the growth of the puffer? Scats, Mono's or Archers?

I didn't know what those fish were, but I looked them up. Cool, I have always read that puffers do best in a single species tank.

For the 29 gallon, you'll need to upgrade soon. Scats get very large. Monos, too. Monos to at least 8 inches. Scats to as much as a foot!
Otherwise, there aren't a huge number of commonly-available options. Mollies would be a bad idea, as their fins would be too tempting for the F8. Gobies aren't schoolers, and archerfish also get to 1 foot. Some BW killies, but they'd get ripped to shreds, too.
