Before I really realized it, I used my Aqueon water changer in a tank with sick fish. I don't know what is wrong with them. Ich, fin rot, dropsy - who knows. I believe my Betta and my last otto in my 10 gallon tank will be dead in a day or so even with all my efforts and the assistance of others on this board.

REGARDLESS of that and my heartache - my Aqueon; I have soaked it in HOT HOT HOT water refreshing the HOT HOT HOT water 3 times.

Would it be Okay to use this tool in my other tanks at this point?

I didn't even think about it until I realized I needed to clean my 72 and 36 gallon tanks by the weekend.

Thoughts?

Use 1 part bleach to 10 parts water to sterilize all equipment after outbreak of illness then rinse to remove residue.

I'm a bit afraid of the bleach. But I can see the reason...

I am hanging it to dry in my basement. I am hoping that there was no cross contamination before I realized there was any illness - I cannot remember. I don't usually use the aqueon in my small tank but I do sometimes by manual siphon to vacuum.
