Water type for a New Tank!

Is it okay to fill an aquarium tank with purified drinking water instead of tap water? If so, does it still need to be dechlorinated and cycled?

I'd imagine it'd be ok, as for the conditioner, in paranoid about everything being safe so it wouldn't hurt to add some. just to be safe

I am sure that you can use filtered drinking water, but still use a conditioner just to be on the safe side..... Tap water is cheaper though if you are going to use a conditioner anyways
