Looks like a fantail to me. It needs cooler water, a big tank and a lot of filtration.

I wouldn't. He could introduce all kinds of disease. Do you have a 5 gallon bucket?

I would leave him in the container then until you can come up with a permanent solution.

Then put an air pump/sponge filter or a small filter on it. I just would not put it in your tropical tank. It won't do well, it may cause your tank to go into a mini cycle (depending on size) and it's very likely to spread disease.

Ultimately you are either looking at setting up a bigger tank for it or taking it to a fish store (preferably not Walmart). It can't stay in 10g forever.
