where do buy light without hood for cheap?

ive looked at petco and pet supermarket and they want $40 for just a 20" light for my 10g and thats expensive considering its $42 for a hood AND the light. Its for my 10g and all i have is a glass top and i need a light asap. Anyone know where to get one for cheap?

isnt LED bad for fish or plants? and i was hoping for something cheaper than $35

Its not bad for either fish or plants. Unless they're specialized leds they won't go plants but they're not harmful to either fish or plants, they're just not optimum for plants. 35$ is about as cheap as its gonna get imo if you're thinking of growing plants but I'm no expert.

This Is the tank I'm getting a light for. Is it okay to just put a light over the glass?

Before you make a decision you should let others chime in and research yourself, it should be fine though to just sit on the glass
